Companies with Internet Based Sales

Every Success Story Starts With a Dream

Do you sell any products or services online?

If your answer is yes, the CRA has introduced a new form that needs to be filed with your corporate tax return. Schedule 88 on Internet Business Activities is required if your business earns income from any websites, or is involved in any of the following:

  • The sale of goods and/or services on your own pages or websites, including the use of a shopping cart or similar process.
  • Offering a place where customers can call, complete and submit a form, or email you to make a purchase, order, or booking
  • Earning income from advertising, income programs, or traffic generated (e.g. static advertisements, affiliate programs, or advertising programs such as Google AdSense or Microsoft adCentre)
  • Has a profile or other page to describe your business on any other websites from which you earn income

You will need to list the website addresses you use and indicate the percentage of total income your business generates from these websites. Keep this in mind, as the form must be filed with any corporate tax returns due after December 31, 2014.

The form can be found by clicking here
